Maria Pearman, CPA
Maria founded Radix Accounting in 2012 after spending five years at a large local CPA firm. Radix was created to provide accounting expertise and a deep operational knowledge to two specific industries that she enjoys - craft beer and creative services. Maria was the Portland Lead Instructor for Becker CPA review courses for five years, and taught Finance and Accounting for the Craft Brewer in Portland State University's Business of Craft Brewing program and in the University of Vermont’s Business of Craft Beer program. She is currently writing a book on brewery finance to be published by the Brewers Association in 2019.
Maria has held committee chair positions with the Oregon Society of CPAs and was selected by the American Society of CPAs to participate in their Leadership Academy as one of thirty-four young industry leaders in 2015. Outside of work Maria loves to explore corners of the globe near and far.
Originally from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Nolan moved to the United States to pursue his passion for data analytics. He has a diverse background in sales, financial services, client consultations, and plans to one day open a beachside bar and grill. Nolan graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Oregon and enjoys golfing, soccer, and time on the beach.
Marc comes to Radix Accounting with a history of supplying accounting services to tech start-up companies. Previously, he had a 20+ year career managing and owning restaurants. He has a BS in Public Accounting from Colorado Mesa University. In his free-time, he is likely at OMSI, the Oregon Zoo, or hiking with his daughter. Marc supervises accounting for bookkeeping clients and serves as our in-house subject matter expert on restaurant finances.
Alize is currently pursuing a BBA in accounting with French and Econ minors at The University of Portland. Originally from Spokane, Washington Alize enjoys traveling and photography.
Diana graduated with her BBA from WSU Vancouver, double-majoring in Accounting and Finance and minoring in Spanish. In her free time, Diana enjoys listening to music, traveling, relaxing on the beach, and spending time with her family and friends. She embraces her passion for music by singing in two different choirs: the Portland Christian United Choir and the Song of Soul Youth Choir.
Kellie is a Portland native that has never strayed farther than the TriMet service area. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 2005. Kellie worked in corporate finance for 7 years. In 2015 she received her Masters of the Science of Financial Analysis from Portland State University. She completed certification to be a CPA in 2017 and she currently serves on the Oregon CPA society’s Not for Profit committee. She lives with her husband and three dogs in Milwaukie. Her husband is teaching her to homebrew, so far she can clean and sterilize just about anything. She is in the process of turning her yard into a food forest, including 18 different kinds of blueberries.
Morien was born and raised in Austin, Texas where he attended The University of Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in tailgating at Longhorn football games, and bleeding burnt orange. He has worked in the food and beverage industry for 20 years. Most recently, Morien worked as a multi-unit Director of Operations overseeing all aspects of operations of three brewpubs from build out, staff hiring and training, to menu development and accounting processes. His wife is a native Portlandian and they relocated to her hometown in 2014. He fell in love with the city immediately. He is now eagerly pursuing a change of career to accounting. In his free time, he loves traveling, camping, and spending time with his wonderful family and two adorable cats.
Eric is a New Orleans native, graduate of Tulane University, and received his CPA in 2003. Eric has twelve years of experience in public accounting firms with eight as an audit manager, three as a controller over a private company in the hospitality industry, and has also done accounting consulting for corporations involving Enterprise Resource Planning systems. Eric works remotely out of New Orleans helping to better meet client needs on the eastern half of the United States. Outside of accounting, Eric has authored two books, loves Saints football, reading, art, punk rock, brass bands, cooking, and spending time with his daughter.
Adrienne Owens, CPA
Adrienne joined Radix Accounting after spending the first five years of her career at two large public accounting firms. She has experience with corporate, partnership and individual taxation as well as tax planning and consulting. Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, she moved to Portland in 2018. Outside of work, Adrienne likes to trail run, spend time with her family, try new restaurants, read and travel.
Kiel Truitt, CPA
Kiel Truitt is a native Oregonian who graduated from the University of Oregon in 2009 with a major in accounting and minor in economics. He obtained his CPA license in 2010 and has been focused on accounting and tax for small to medium sized business throughout his career. In his free time, Kiel enjoys running, hiking, traveling and following his favorite sports teams including the Ducks and the Blazers.
Alyssa is originally from Bellingham, Washington. After graduating from Western Washington University with her MBA she moved to Portland to live the dream of the 90’s: biking, good beer and a city big enough where your favorite bands actually come to town. She spent several years working for local banks. She is currently pursuing a post-bac accounting certificate at Portland State. In her free time she enjoys singing, hiking with friends, being active in her church and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
Johanna is a native Oregonian with over 20 years bookkeeping experience. In her free time she enjoys competing with her German Shepherds in obedience trials, practicing her archery skills and tracing her family tree.
Karen has a diverse background focused on the business side of the Entertainment Industry, with additional experience in restaurant and bar management. Karen is going on 20 years in Portland and enjoys spending time with her 8 year old daughter, Elenor. In her spare time she is a multi-instrumentalist in a local pop band.
